Frederico Ribeiro began his musical studies in 2003, aged 5, at the Parede Music School. At the age of 10, he entered the Cascais Music Conservatory, where he studied up to 5th grade and won the “Young Talents” competition (1st ex-aequo prize).
At the age of 15, he continued his studies with Professor João Lucena e Vale at the National Conservatory’s School of Music, having completed the course with 19 out of 19. During this period he participates in the VII Czerny Competition of the National Conservatory School of Music, where he wins the 1st prize of step V and the 1st global prize ex-aequo. He also participates in the II National Competition of Chamber Music of Vila Verde, where he wins the 2nd prize. In addition to competitions, he also participates in several masterclasses, both solo and in chamber music, with teachers such as Paulo Gaio Lima, Paul Wakabayashi and Paulo Oliveira.
In 2016, as part of the Dias da Música em Belém, at the CCB, he debuts, together with his trio, 3’98, in the Amália Rodrigues room, the work O Dia Seguinte by Anne Victorino d’Almeida. He also wins a scholarship award, Palco de Talentos, created by Banco Santader Totta in partnership with Rock in Rio Lisboa.
That same year, he entered the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Professor Constantin Sandu, having completed his degree with 18 out of 20. In 2017 he participates in the 13th Alto Minho International Piano Competition where he wins the 2nd ex aequo prize and in the XII Orihuela International Music Forum where he has classes with several pianists, such as Fernando Puchol, Jesús Mª Gómez, Xavier Torres, Jean François Antonioli and Balazs Fulei. In this International Forum, he participates in the III Piano Competition, where he wins the 2nd prize. He also works solo with pianists Ivo Kahanek, Alessando Cervino, Bin Wang and Vlad Dimulescu, in lied with Kelvin Grout and in chamber music with violist Jon Thorne.
He also participates as a pianist in the collective creation A Audição, a staging by António Durães and Cláudia Marisa performed at Café Concerto Francisco Beja.
In 2019 he performs a Concert with Orquestra do Norte inserted in the II Festival de Canto Lírico de Guimarães where he accompanies the lyrical singer Lara Martins.
He passed through several concert halls, including the Amália Rodrigues hall of the CCB, the Ateneu Comercial do Porto, the Rectory of the University of Porto, the Helena Sá e Costa Theater and the Salão Nobre of the National Conservatory.
As an accompanying pianist, he teaches at the Perosinho School of Music and at the Vila Nova de Gaia Conservatory.
He enrolled in the Masters in Music-Artistic Interpretation at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Professor Miguel Borges Coelho, also taking chamber music classes with Professor Pedro Burmester.
He is currently a piano teacher at the Compasso Divertido School of Music and at the Cascais Music Conservatory.
