Sara Pontes is from São Luís (MA), Brazil, born in 1998. She began her piano studies at the age of 15, at the Escola de Música do Estado do Maranhão (The Only Professional School of Music in Maranhão), with Prof. My. Andréa Lúcia Rodrigues. She participated in some festivals in Brazil, such as: V Gramado In Concert, with the piano core teachers: Melanie Chae (South Korea) and Olinda Alessandrini (Rio Grande do Sul), from the XXI Eleazar de Carvalho Festival (Fortaleza), having as piano teachers: Paul Rutman (New York) and Max Barros (California) and also from the 39th Oficina de Música de Curitiba, having as teachers: Erika Ribeiro, Raphael Luszczewski and Cristian Budu. In addition to having participated in Masterclasses with the teachers: Dr. Simone Leitão and Dr. Cristina Caparelli.
Currently, Sara is a Master’s student in Music Teaching at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco, Postgraduate in Music and 21st Century Piano Teaching from the Faculdade de Administração, Humanas e Exatas: FAHE/Academia Cultura, Graduated in music from the Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA) and piano technologist from the Escola de Música do Estado do Maranhão (EMEM).
