Born in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1971 and has lived in Portugal since 1995. He began his training at the age of 5 at the “Kiev Special Musical School N.V. Lysenko”. He continued his studies at the “R. M. Glier Kiev State Higher Musical College” and at the “Kiev Higher State Conservatory P. I. Tchaikovsky”, in the class of Vadim Chervov. In 1995 he finished the course with distinction and obtained the “Diploma of Orchestra Soloist, Chamber Music Artist and Teacher”. In 2011, he completed a Masters in Cello at the Lisbon Superior School of Music.
He furthered his studies in England, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal respectively with Britten Quartett members Yehudi Menuhin, Radu Aldulescu, Natalia Gutman, Márcio Carneiro and Natalia Shakhovskaya. In Ukraine he made several recordings for National Broadcasting, National Opera Theater Orchestra and National Ballet Orchestra and was a soloist with the “Ensemble Camerata de Kiev.”
He obtained several international prizes in the areas of chamber music and contemporary music, highlighting the 3rd prize and “Prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music”, in the international competition “N.V. Lyssenko”, in 1992 and 2nd Prize in the International Chamber Music Competition “Outumno de Ouro”, in 1993.
In Portugal he made several recordings for RTP and RDP (Antena 2) and was a teacher at the Conservatório de Ponta Delgada, in the Azores until 2000.
He collaborated regularly with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and currently collaborates with the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra (OCCO), among others.
He is currently Professor of Cello at the Regional Conservatory of Palmela.
