Manuel Esteves Valério, born in Covilhã, began his musical studies at age 12 at the Escola Profissional de Artes da Beira Interior, in the trumpet class of Professor Fernando Jorge.
In 2018, he studied at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas in Castelo Branco, where he studied with Professors António Quítalo and José Almeida, completing both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in teaching at the institution.
Throughout his career, he took part in numerous masterclasses with professors such as Allen Vizzutti, Jerowen Bewarts, Reinold Friedrich, Caleb Hudson, Mathias Hoffs, Bruno Nouvion, Guido Segers, among others. He worked with several conductors, including Pablo Heras-Casado, Edmon Lavon, Jan Wierzba, Jean Berreau, Gream Jenkins, Antonio Pirolli, and Miguel Romera, among others.
At the orchestral level, he has collaborated with various ensembles, including: Orquestra APROARTE, Orquestra Académica Filarmónica Portuguesa, Banda Sinfónica da Covilhã, Orquestra Joven de Extremadura, Orquestra Sinfónica Internacional de Ceuta, Ungdomssymfonikerne, and Orquestra do Distrito de Braga. He served as a substitute player in the Beira Interior orchestral ensemble, as a reserve member of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, and as a reserve for the Gulbenkian Orchestra Academy.
In 2024/25, he reached the final selection stage of the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra), also took part in an orchestral academy, and joined OAcademy with a residency in the United States. He regularly collaborates with the Sinfonietta de Castelo Branco, the Orquestra de Extremadura, and the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras. Since 2025, he has been a teacher at the Conservatório de Música de Cascais.
