Levon Mouradian was awarded the Silver Medal at the 1985 Pablo Casals International Cello Competition in Budapest, Hungary. In 1986, he received a prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow, Russia. Earlier, in 1982, he won 3rd prize at the Soviet Union National Competition. In 1997, he was awarded 1st prize at the Júlio Cardona International Competition in Covilhã, Portugal.
As a soloist, Levon Mouradian has performed with eminent conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Veronika Dudarova, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, Jansug Kakhidze, Lawrence Foster, Vakhtang Jordania, David Khandjian, Omri Hadari, Daniel Nazare, Vag Papian, Avner Biron, Gheorghe Kostin, Joana Carneiro, and Ruben Aharonian, among many others.
He has appeared in the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Russia, Armenia, Israel, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, and the former Yugoslavia, and performed at renowned international festivals including Nachtstücke (Munich) and Schloss Weikersheim (Germany), the David Oistrakh Festival (Tallinn), the Santander International Music Festival, as well as numerous festivals throughout Spain and Portugal (Burgos, Cangas de Onís, Madeira, Coimbra, Algarve, Sintra, Leiria, Tomar, and Viana do Castelo).
In 1999, Mouradian began teaching cello at the University of Évora (Portugal). Since 2015, he has been Professor of Cello at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. He is regularly invited to teach at international festivals such as Valle de Arlanza and Nueva Generación Musical (Spain and Germany), as well as at the International Festival of Viana do Castelo, collaborating with distinguished cellists including Ivan Monighetti and Nathaniel Rosen. He has also given masterclasses at the University of Georgia (USA) and served as a jury member of the Júlio Cardona International String Competition.
