He had his first contact with music through his father, a flutist by profession, and began learning percussion at the Sociedade Filarmónica Operária Amorense with Professor Valter Passarinho. He later joined Professor João Paulo Monteiro’s class at the National Conservatory School of Music and continued his studies at the Metropolitana Conservatory with Professor Marco Fernandes. After completing this course, he joins the National Superior Orchestra Academy where he studies with Professors Rui Sul Gomes, Pedro Silva, Fernando Llopis and Richard Buckley. In 2021 he attended the annual Master of Timpani and Percussion at the Lorenzo Perosi Conservatory in Italy with Professor Nando Russo. In 2016 he played as a guest soloist with the EMCN Percussion Group at the “Tomarimbando” International Percussion Festival. He has collaborated with Youth Orchestras such as Oj.com, Youth Symphony Orchestra, Young German-Hungarian Philharmonic, National Youth Orchestra, Gulbenkian Stage Orchestra, Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and with Professional Orchestras such as the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquestra Gulbenkian, Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, among others. In 2022 he participated in the Wieland Paukenkurs with Professor Wieland Wetzel from the Berliner Philarmoniker. In 2017 he joined the PSP Symphonic Band and is currently a Professor at the Cascais Music Conservatory and works at the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra.
