The Cascais Music Conservatory (in Lisbon, Portugal) is pleased to announce the start of the Orchestral Conducting Course, from the 1st of October 2024. The course is open to professional musicians and young conductors who wish to improve their basic principles of the technique, up to the most complicated issues of the art of conducting.
The course work addresses various matters within the manual technique, and all questions linked to the preparation of the musical pieces, the rehearsal process with the orchestra, as well as problems with interpretation, the composer and his individuality, style and expressiveness.
It includes an opportunity to attend orchestra rehearsals with Maestro Lalov or guest conductors, and follow the preparatory process for different programs and concerts.
The course duration is 9 months. It includes work sessions with Maestro Lalov twice a month lasting 1h30 minutes and assisting with Cascais Chamber or Symphony Orchestra rehearsals for 15 hours (by prior arrangement, normally 1 week per month).
The course cost is 300 euros per month and at the end of the course the student receives a Diploma mentioning the number of the credits.
