Last student of the legendary pianist Lazar Berman, Lorenzo Di Bella received in 2005 the 1st Prize and Gold Medal at “V. Horowitz” International Piano Competition in Kiev(Wfimc).
In 2006 former Italian President C.A.Ciampi awarded him with the “Sinopoli Prize” in honour of the famous orchestra director Giuseppe Sinopoli, passed away in 2001.
In the last years he has performed with great success at the Two World’s Festival in Spoleto, at Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice, “Mi-To Festival”, “Teatro Olimpico” in Vicenza, “Teatro delle Muse” in Ancona (Amici della Musica), “Michelangeli” Hall in Bolzano, ETH of Zurich, Lugano(RSI), Chopin Festival in Marianske Lazne, Festivals in Sombor and Novi Sad, Krakow Piano Festival, in Hamburg, Madrid, Berlin, Utrecht, Prague (Rudolfinum and Smetana Hall), Kyev (Philarmonic Hall and Opera House), Sofia, Moscow, Tbilisi, Montreal (Maison Symphonique), “Haydn Hall” Eisenstadt, Sarajevo, San Paolo, Shanghai (Oriental Center and Conservatory Hall), “Società dei Concerti” and “Serate Musicali” in Milan, Santa Cecilia Hall of the “Parco della Musica” in Rome.
His intense musical activity led him to collaborate with many orchestras such as Santa Cecilia National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Orchestra “Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milan , Sanremo Symphony, O’Porto National Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Nancy Symphony Orchestra, SudWestDeutsche Philarmonie, Villingen-Schwenningen Symphony, Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin, North Czech Philarmonic, Moravian Philarmonic, Szolnok Hungarian Symphony, Podkarpacka Symphony, Philarmonia Sudecka, Kielce Philarmonic, Adana State Orchestra, New World Philarmonic.
He has collaborated with important conductors among the others James Conlon, Kirill Karabits, Hasan Niyazi-Tura, Vassylis Christopoulos, Reinhard Seehafer, Zbinĕk Müller, Vladimir Sirenko, Michael Maciaszczyk, Fan Ting, Michel Brousseau, David Crescenzi, Francesco Lanzillotta, Luigi Piovano, Massimiliano Caldi.
Lorenzo Di Bella has a very active teaching schedule as a main piano professor at the Conservatorio “G.Rossini” in Pesaro and he gives international masterclass (Gnessin Institut Moscow, Imola Piano Academy, Shanghai Conservatory, Gulda Conservatory Wien, “Vladigerov” National Academy Sofia, etc.)
In 2022 he debuted with the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Wien for the Musik der Meister serie.
He is founder and artistic director of “Civitanova Classica Piano Festival” , the “Mugellini Music Festival” and “La Palma d’Oro” International Piano Competition in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy).
