A graduate of the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra and the Haute École de Musique de Genève, Igor Ferreira Varela (b. 1997) has distinguished himself as one of the most active clarinetists of his generation, regularly appearing in concerts and recitals as a soloist, chamber and orchestra all over the country and in countries such as Spain, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark and the United States of America.
He collaborates with the most important Portuguese orchestras such as the Orquestra Gulbenkian, Metropolitana de Lisboa, Clássica do Centro, Remix Ensemble Casa da Música and abroad with the Orchester de la Suisse Romande, Philharmonic Show Orchestra (Switzerland), Orchester Philarmonique Ose, Orchester de Pays of Savoie (France).
Solo clarinet with the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra since September 2022, Igor is also a professor of clarinet at the Cascais Music Conservatory.
