António Saiote wrote the history of the clarinet in Portugal. He is a world-renowned artist and pedagogue. He studied in Paris and then in Munich, where he obtained the Meisterdiplom from the Hochschule with distinction. He completed a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Music in Spain. He studied Traditional Repertoire in England.
He holds a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Sheffield. He has an extremely distinguished international career as a soloist, teacher, and maestro.
Member of the jury and president of major international competitions. Named Honorary Member of the International Clarinet Association.
Honored with the title of Latin American Clarinet Personality by the Clariperu Association. Awarded the Medal of Honor of the Loures City Council.
Awarded the rank of Commander of the Order of Infante D. Henrique. He has recorded several CDs.
