Cascais Music and Dance Conservatory
About

The Cascais Music Conservatoire, an official music school linked to the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra (OCCO), was inaugurated on April 19, 2008. It is located on a fully recovered old building named Chalet Madalena, a former hostel in Monte Estoril. It is the direct successor of the earlier Concertino Music School (functioning since 2002) under the scope of the OCCO Association.
The opening of the Cascais Music Conservatoire was a relevant happening in the municipality of Cascais, and also the fulfillment of one of the major goals of the Association. In July 2008, the Cascais Music Conservatoire was officially recognized by the Ministry of Education as the first official music school in the Municipality of Cascais.
In 2014, the Conservatoire expanded its offer with the opening of the Dance Department, which official Dance Course was also recognized by the ministry of Education in 2017.
The aim of the OCCO Association is clear: to render the Cascais Music Conservatoire as an example of the dissemination of national art and culture, and to make it a long lasting institution, reaching a large range of ages and throughout the whole region.
