Sebastião Reis (b. 25 April 1996) began his musical studies at the age of 9 at the Sociedade Filarmónica Ouriense. He later joined Ourearte – Escola de Música e Artes de Ourém, where he studied horn under professors Rodrigo Carreira and Nuno Caetano.
In 2015 he entered the Lisbon School of Music (Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa), where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Horn in the class of professors Paulo Guerreiro and Luís Vieira.
He has taken part in masterclasses with several renowned horn players, including Radovan Vlatković, Fergus McWilliam, Bernardo Silva, Hélder Vales, Ricardo Matosinhos, Nuno Costa, Hélder Carneiro, João Ramos, Hugo Sousa, Laurent Rossi, and Bruno Rafael.
He has collaborated with conductors such as Jean-Marc Burfin, Alberto Roque, Robert Houlihan, José Pedro Figueiredo, João Paulo Fernandes, Paulo Martins, Odd Terje Lysebo, Craig Kirchoff, Vasco Azevedo, Roman Simovic, and Thomas Sanderling.
He has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra and the Wind Orchestra of the Lisbon School of Music, the West European Symphony Orchestra, the Lisbon Film Orchestra, the Camerata de Sopros Silva Dionísio, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Lisbon Youth Orchestra, the Lisbon Sinfonietta, the Tomar Symphony Orchestra, the Alma Mater Orchestra, the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, and the Algarve Orchestra.
