Bruno Nogueira (Cascais, 1984) studied at the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional (in the class of Prof. Rui Martins) and at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (in the class of Prof. Manuel Jerónimo), where he completed his degree with a final grade of 18 out of 20.
He took part in several clarinet advanced training courses with professors such as: Guy Deplus, Alain Damiens, Paul Meyer, Karl Leister, Charles Neidich, Lorenzo Coppola, Alberto Ferrer Martínez, Andrew Simon, Antony Pay, Henry Bok, Walter Boeykens, Nuno Silva, Joaquim Ribeiro, and Luís Gomes.
In 2004, he was awarded 3rd prize at the “Costa Azul” Clarinet Competition, and in 2007 he received 2nd prize at the “Prémio José Augusto Alegria” Clarinet Competition, both in the advanced category.
In 2011, following a clarinet and piano recital with pianist and composer Aleksandar Simic, he received a commendation from former President of the Republic Dr. Jorge Sampaio, who said: “he delivered, as a clarinetist, a magnificent and moving performance… I felt proud as a Portuguese person of his highly accomplished participation…”
In 2005, he joined the ranks of the Symphonic Band of the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR).
As an orchestral instrumentalist, he has collaborated with various orchestras, notably: Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras, Orquestra Sinfónica de Cascais, Orquestra de Clarinetes de Almada, and Orquestra de Clarinettes de Toulouse.
He currently holds the position of principal clarinet at the Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras and at the Symphonic Band of the Guarda Nacional Republicana.
