He began his musical studies at the age of eight at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo Music School (EMNSC), where he studied with Paula Fernandes. In the academic year 2000/2001, she entered the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília (AMSC), where she studied with Lígia Soares, and where she completed the 8th grade. In the academic year 2004/2005 she joined the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML), where she studied with Khatchatour Amirkhanian. At the same time, she continued to attend the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília (AMSC) in the class of Profª Lígia Soares, in a free regime.
In the academic year 2007/2008 she entered the University of Évora (UE) in the class of Prof. Valentim Stefanov, in which she finished a postgraduate year with a classification of 20 out of 20.
His work in the orchestra began at an early age, as well as performing the role of Concertmaster, a position he held in several orchestras such as the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the University of Évora Orchestra and the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra.
At the University of Évora Orchestra, in addition to being a concertmaster, he was also in charge of rehearsing string ensembles.
He is a regular member of the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Carneiro, in which he has regularly performed, in addition to the role of concertmaster, other roles as assistant concertmaster and also auxiliary concertmaster. With this, he performed at several festivals such as the “City of London Festival” in London, the already renowned festival “Dias da Música” at CCB, the Alcobaça festival “Cistermúsica”, among others. He has also recently collaborated with OCPzero.
He has performed solo several times with an orchestra or with a piano in places such as the Aula Magna, the Great Auditorium of the CCB, the Great Hall of the Teatro Nacional de S. Carlos, Teatro Camões, Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, the Great Auditorium of the Rectory of the University de Aveiro, Teatro Aberto, Teatro-Cine Torres Vedras, among many others. Some of these, broadcast on “Antena 2”. Of note among them is the performance with the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras under the baton of maestro Ernst Schelle with the violin concerto by Tchaikovsky and also by the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil, playing the work “As Quatro Estações” by Vivaldi. In 2013 he performed as a soloist with the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra and the West Europe Orchestra.
He also performs as a chamber musician, being regularly invited by the institution “Contemporaneus” and, to highlight, always as 1st violin in string ensembles and more recently as concertmaster in the Opera “Cosi fan Tutte” by Mozart, in which he was the first Opera produced in the Alentejo region. Recently he was also invited to play with the “Ensemble mpmp” works by living Portuguese composers, in which at the S. Roque Festival he was concertmaster of an orchestra formed for the occasion of the same Ensemble. Within the same ensemble he toured Brazil last April. It has already been conducted by renowned conductors, such as Pedro Carneiro, Joana Carneiro, Rui Massena, Francesco La Vecchia, Heinrich Schiff, Ernst Schelle, Alberto Roque, Luís Carvalho, Álvaro Cassuto, among others.
He was awarded in several competitions, one of which was the José Augusto Alegria International Competition.
He attended several “Masterclasses” with Profs. Gerardo Ribeiro, Gareguine Aroutiounian, Pavel Arefiev, Daniel Rowland, Ulf Hoelscher, Felix Andrievsky and Valentim Stefanov. He also attended directing courses with Profs. Roberto Perez and Vasco Negreiros.
He was invited to record the Soundtrack for a DVD about the visual artist Ana Vieira, in a project with Pedro Carneiro, for Violin and Marimba.
It should be noted that he also collaborated in the recording of the CD by singer and pianist Rogério Godinho, as well as in a concert by the already well-known group “Corvos”.
He was invited to perform a Violin Masterclass at Teatro Tempo in Portimão.
He has premiered works by renowned composers such as Cristopher Bochmann or Alexandre Delgado, among many others.
In the academic year 2009/2010 he taught Violin at the Regional Conservatory of Setúbal. During 2011, he also taught Violin and Orchestra at the Conservatório de Música de Mação. In the academic year, 2013/2014, he taught at the Alcobaça Music Conservatory.
In December 2012 he joined the Fundação Estúdio Orchestra in Guimarães, within the framework of “Guimarães – European Capital of Culture”.
