Tiago Ribeiro was born in Lisbon. He started playing the cello at the age of 6 and finished his studies at the Santa Cecilia School in Lisbon with Luis Sá Pessoa. During 1993 and 1997, he received schoolarship from The Gulbenkian Foundation.
Tiago Ribeiro graduated from the High School of Music in Lisbon with Clelia Vital -cello and Irene Lima – chamber music.He has participated in several Master classes with distinguished professors such as Marcio Carneiro and Bertrand Broudier.
Tiago Ribeiro has been a member of The Portuguese Youth Orchestra. He has also played with The Gulbenkian orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra and Algarve Orchestra.
At the moment he is a resident musician of The Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra and a teacher at the Leiria Music School.
