The program presents pieces of great interest and, in some cases, premieres, with special emphasis on the important Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera, a student of Aaron Copland and teacher of Astor Piazzolla, and on the English composer Arnold Bax. The program also includes, to the surprise of many, the American composer Amy Beach, whose work is beginning to be rediscovered.
